Why the Women's Fund?

The Women's Fund aligns so well with my own personal values, and with SHIFT’s values - SHIFT Co-Founder Kate Watt and I love that the Fund provides a meaningful way to support initiatives set up for women and by women. We also have enormous respect for the wonderful women involved in the Women’s Fund – Dellwyn, Qiujing, Joy and Mel!

How or where do you see the Women's Fund making a difference?

The Fund enables women to take their initiatives to the next level and I think supporting this growth makes a huge difference. The recipients of the 2018 grants are testament to the great work NZ women are doing: scaling this fund is going be a game changer for initiatives including SPINZS, The Kindness Institute, and The Aunties to name a few.

Who is your biggest female role model/inspiration and why?

It's so hard to pick one because there are many women in my life who are role models and inspire me. I have so much respect for dear friends who are in the workplace, the school and wider community, who divide their time across families, schools, non-profits and our professional communities. Not to mention my own mother who gives her time so generously to Lifeline and other organisations, and my spirited daughter whose sense of self is awe-inspiring.

Finish this sentence: "In 10 years' time, I want women and girls in New Zealand to…"

"...be able to work and live in a way that is true to themselves and their families."
