Manasprings
Together we can support and strengthen grassroots women leaders in transforming communities for the wellbeing of all.
Women across Kenya who lead within their local community based organisations are making a real difference in the lives of vulnerable and disadvantaged women, men, boys and girls. These women are carers within their communities – women leaders with ‘mana’. They are dedicated to seeing transformational change in their communities.
Founded in 2015, Manasprings is dedicated to uplifting and empowering women leaders in Kenya who are deeply committed to serving impoverished communities. Why? At the grassroots, women show courage and resilience in the midst of adversity.
They understand the importance of working with other like-minded women in providing support to the economically poor. And women who work on the frontlines need time on the sidelines.
With the establishment of the Manasprings Fund with The Auckland Foundation, anyone can give from small to large donations. We aim to support and strengthen women with ‘mana’ - in transforming communities for the wellbeing of all. To achieve this, Manasprings facilitates ‘live-in’ retreats and local chapters designed for physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual health, providing a safe space for reflection, sharing, and collaboration, with focus on:
- Connecting women of shared service to exchange knowledge and wisdom,
- Inspiring personal growth through storytelling, and
- Learning from each other to understand what works and what needs improvement.
We also champion women and their local organisations! And in doing so, help raise funds for community projects – Girls’ Education, Women in Agriculture, Women in Small Business, and Dignified Work for Women as a collective effort to educate and empower girls and women within Kenya.
