Why the Women's Fund?

The Women's Fund is the only way to join with other women and contribute our skills, networks and funds to make a difference for girls and women who haven't been as fortunate as I recognise I have been. And to add my voice and energy to breaking down the remaining barriers to true equality.

How or where do you see the Women's Fund making a difference?

Women are powerful agents of change in families and communities. The Women's Fund will find and support these women who are making change happen. The Fund is also bringing the variety of groups working to support gender equality together and amplifying their work and progress.

Who is your biggest female role model/inspiration and why?

My mother was powerful in shaping who I am and I'm grateful to have been her daughter. Outside of family, my local hero is Dame Tariana Turia. She is grounded, passionate and inspirational. I have huge admiration for her commitment and loyalty to the things she holds to be true and important.

Finish this sentence: "In 10 years' time, I want women and girls in New Zealand to..."

"...have full gender equality - a world where they can take up all of life’s opportunities with respect, safety and dignity - a world where they are equally valued in every aspect of life and able to fulfil their potential."
